Dr. Hamlin-Glover is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Alabama, and North Carolina. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Marriage and Family Therapy from Florida State University in 2010. While at Florida State University, Dr. Hamlin-Glover was inducted into Kappa Omicron Nu National Honor Society for Human Sciences. Dr. Hamlin-Glover has over 20 years of clinical experience working in community Mental Health and marriage and family therapy. Dr. Hamlin-Glover is a Certified Gottman Leader for the 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work workshop. This educational workshop is designed to help couples improve their relationship and conflict management skills.
APPROACH
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, it gives Dr. Hamlin-Glover pleasure to provide quality and excellent clinical services in helping couples, families and individuals overcome an array of challenges, such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, life skills, grief, trauma, on the job difficulties, and inability to problem-solve effectively and achieve their personal goals within a short period of time. She works with individuals, couples, families, and businesses looking to create an environment that shifts from discord to harmony, moving from dysfunction to enjoying and respecting relationships with one another.
Dr. Hamlin-Glover is committed to restoring relationships using evidence based, systemic models such as Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy (CBT/CBFT). She takes a special interest in military families and veterans as she has extensive research and work experience with this population and is also an active-duty military spouse. Dr. Hamlin-Glover is also an advocate for Faith-Based organizations taking the lead on educating urban communities on mental health illnesses. She encourages individuals to be attentive to their minds, bodies, interpersonal and spiritual relationships (God, family, and spouse) as this is significant to a healthy and better “You”.

Amanda is a Harding University alum, where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Art and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. Amanda became a Marriage and Family Therapist in Alabama and opened her private practice, Connect Relational Counseling, LLC in 2014. Amanda has many years of training and experience in treating trauma-related disorders. She also has experience working in community mental health facilities, inpatient treatment for teens, a psychiatric intensive care unit, and a group practice for family counseling.
APPROACH
Amanda specializes in treating couples using evidence-based, systemic models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy and tailors her treatment to the couple’s needs. Amanda enjoys working with individuals as well and has had success in treating a variety of presenting problems (trauma, adjustment and lifecycle transitions, anxiety, depression, compulsions) utilizing mindfulness-based approaches, creative therapies, and attachment-based modalities. Her extensive training in trauma and EMDR provides special knowledge and techniques key in treating trauma-related symptoms.
She has been specially trained in Family Systems Theory and related family therapy models. While studying this fascinating discipline, she came to realize the importance of self-awareness, balance, and connection for each individual. She feels these are the key components of a peaceful and joyful life and wants to share these with her clients.

Heather earned her BS in Academic Psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and her MS in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, licensed in Tennessee and Alabama. She has more than 25 years of experience in outpatient counseling, serving a wide variety of clientele, ranging from children to geriatric patients.

Anna Themas is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in nonprofit, community mental health, and private practice outpatient counseling. Anna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and her Masters degree of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Illinois University in Moline, Illinois. Anna presently holds licenses in Iowa and Alabama. Anna specializes in working with adult individuals who have experienced trauma of all kinds (childhood trauma, survivors of sexual assault, survivors of domestic violence, survivors of homicide, post-traumatic stress, etc), anxiety, depression, reproductive trauma (difficult pregnancy/delivery experiences, infertility issues, gestational carriers, pregnancy loss, etc), as well as business owners, high functioning professionals and other therapists. Anna is trained in Trauma-Informed Care, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Crisis Care and Healthy Parenting.
APPROACH
Anna's therapeutic approach is client-centered first and foremost. She utilizes both an existential and strength-based approaches that offer the flexibility to clients to have counseling services molded to their individual counseling goals. Incorporating evidence-based practices from Cognitive Behavioral Counseling and tools from Mindfulness training (attention to somatic symptoms) into sessions while participating in talk-therapy allows clients to work in a safe environment, building tools to work toward their more whole and balanced lives.

Alexis joined Madison Counseling Associates in 2021 as the admin assistant and is now the practice manager of the MCA. Alexis provides a warm welcome to new and returning patients. She possesses excellent leadership and organizational skills and ensures the effectiveness of the company's staff and processes. She has experience in assisting clients with scheduling, assisting new clients with paperwork, payments, and insurance.
Alexis is from Huntsville, AL. She is a CRAZED fan of the hit show “The Office”! She enjoys crafts of all kinds, cooking, and relaxing in her spare time. She also has an interest in becoming a LMFT in the future.
Latonya is the newest member of our team and handles the daily operations of Madison Counseling Associates. She has experience in assisting clients with scheduling, assisting new clients with paperwork, payments, and cheerfully welcomes everyone to our office!
She loves reading, spending time with family. She and her husband enjoy eating at good restaurants. She has 20+ years of experience in working in the medical field.
